Transfers

Keep in mind that each resort is based on its private island; therefore, when you arrive at Velana International Airport, you will need either a speedboat or seaplane transfer or a domestic flight.

Velana airport is located on Hulhule Island, near the country's capital, Male. The mode of transfer to your resort will depend on where it is located. You can take a speedboat to the cnearby islands. Most speedboats take about 45 minutes to reach the resort.

Seaplane transfers are a highlight of the trip for many! Keep in mind you may need to wait until the seaplane is full before departing for your resort. Waiting times can vary depending on when other flights arrive. The arrival cut-off for the seaplane is usually 15:00. Any later than this, then you may need to board a domestic flight.

Tip: Try to plan your flight to arrive as early as possible so you will have more choice of transport and be able to see the island in its stunning beauty from the moment you step off the plane.

Board Basis

Bed and Breakfast (B&B)- While this option may seem to be the least expensive, things do add up! It is best to speak to us to weigh up your options. As there are no local restaurants, prices come at a premium at the resorts so it is best to compare different meal plans and browse menus before deciding on this option.

Half Board (HB)- This is a good option if you do not drink a lot of alcohol and eat lighter throughout the day. Half-board includes breakfast and dinner. Keep in mind that breakfasts are usually quite plentiful and being in such a tropical climate most people do not eat as much throughout the day.

Full Board (FB)- Includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A good option for those who prefer three meals and do not drink much alcohol.

For most people, we recommend an all-inclusive (AI) package for a Maldives holiday. Typical inclusions are:
